Can I Cure Genital Warts?

Disappointingly, the straight answer to this question is no.

The simplest reason why is because genital warts are the symptom of a viral infection … not a bacterial infection.  And unlike bacteria, viruses aren’t alive (i.e. you can’t kill something that isn’t alive).  A virus is basically an extremely small piece of information that takes over living cells, using them to reproduce.

This is why all you can really do is treat the symptoms of the virus to try to mitigate the virus’s affects on your body.  This situation is similar to a medical condition that has been killing the young and old for years … the flu.

Those who are infected with HPV (the virus that causes genital warts) can opt for medical treatment where doctors can treat their genital warts with various types of medication or (in severe cases) with expensive surgical procedures.

However, because a virus causes genital warts, once you successfully get rid of your warts there is still a chance for the genital warts to come back.
