Genital Warts Versus Regular
Warts
All warts are caused by the HPV virus and they can occur on any part
of the body. Of the hundred strains, only thirty percent of those are sexually transmittable. This small percentage
is responsible for genital warts whereas the other sizeable portion causes regular warts.
One interesting thing to note is that once you are infected with a
particular strain, your body develops immunity against it almost immediately. However, you are still
susceptible to other strains.
To answer the fundamental question of this article, genital warts are
concentrated inside or around the genital areas whereas regular warts may occur anywhere else on the body. The
secondary difference is that genital warts are far more transmittable than regular warts. Lastly, genital warts are
more likely to get worse during pregnancy, even though regular warts remain unaltered with respect to other bodily
conditions.
The treatment for each variation of warts takes time. During
this time, it is best to refrain from any direct skin-to-skin contact.
