All warts are caused by the HPV virus and they can occur on any part of the body. Of the hundred strains, only thirty percent of those are sexually transmittable. This small percentage is responsible for genital warts whereas the other sizeable portion causes regular warts.

One interesting thing to note is that once you are infected with a particular strain, your body develops immunity against it almost immediately. However, you are still susceptible to other strains.
